Tom De Longe gives fans a hint as to what to expect from the reunited pop-punk band’s upcoming album.

“The new @blink182 album contains some of the most progressive and elevated music [we’ve] never had”, the Blink-182 singer/guitarist tweeted Saturday (October 15). “In all honesty, I’m holding my breath for you guys to hear those other songs.”

Blink announcement earlier this week that the band’s original lineup of DeLonge, vocalist/bassist Mark Hoppus and drummer Travis Barker plans to reunite for a new album and world tour. DeLonge previously left the band in 2014 and was replaced by Matt Skiba of Alkaline Trio.

Friday, programming of Blink-182 published new single “Edging”, marking the classic trio’s first time in the recording studio in 10 years. Indeed, “Edging” is a Blink classic, carved from ill-spent youth and with all the bluster, bluster and detail that made the trio one of the most popular alt-rock bands of its time.

DeLonge noted in his tweet on Saturday that “‘Edging’ is fun, and a perfect way to remind you of the fun again. But just fucking waiting.

Blink-182 had not announced an official release date for their as-yet-untitled upcoming album at press time. The band’s world tour, its biggest trek to date, kicks off in Mexico on March 11 and will visit North and South America, Europe, Australia and New Zealand through 2024.
