The next Obi Wan Kenobi The series for Disney+ is already making Star Wars history even before the first episode hits the platform. Composer Natalie Holt has become the first woman to score a live-action Star Wars project thanks to her contribution of a new theme for Obi Wan.
It wouldn’t be the first time Holt has teamed up with Disney, as she created some of the best music in the Marvel Cinematic Universe when she composed themes for the Loki series. She’s also on deck to score a movie across the comic book movie aisle when working on DC. bat girl. In other words, Holt stays busy with some of the biggest and most iconic cinematic universes. However, the Star Wars distinction is probably very special, if only for the reason that Holt was able to collaborate with the legendary John Williams for the Obi Wan Kenobi music.
John Williams has composed some of the most catchy and iconic film scores of all time, with his work on star wars being one of his most notable and beloved. Themes like “Star Wars (main title)”, “The Imperial March” and “Duel of the Fates” have always been in the minds of moviegoers since they were first heard in theaters. . Perhaps Holt’s contribution will join the hallowed halls of these compositions when his Obi Wan Kenobi song arrives on the small screen.
The Disney+ Star Wars live-action series has already created several memorable musical moments thanks to the Oscar-winning composer Ludwig Goranssonwork on both The Mandalorian and Boba Fett’s Book. Now Natalie Holt has her chance to add to that success by providing a haunting theme for the exiled Obi-Wan. We won’t have to wait long to hear about the work Holt has done for Obi Wan Kenobi. The show is coming to Disney+ next month and will feature Ewan McGregor reprising the role he inherited from Alec Guinness and made his own in the prequel trilogy.
Obi Wan Kenobi follows the Jedi after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. In this movie, we saw Anakin Skywalker become the villainous Darth Vader, the massive executioner of the Jedi Order, and Obi-Wan Kenobi take Anakin’s children to far corners of the galaxy. The series finds Kenobi on Tatooine, watching over a young Luke Skywalker. As we’ve seen in previous Disney+ live-action Star Wars series, the show will feature fan-favorite live-action characters from the Clone Wars and Rebels animated shows. Namely, we’ll see The Grand Inquisitor, who was the bald bad guy wielding a red lightsaber that you can see in the Trailer. Fans might be more excited that Hayden Christensen will also return to reprise his role as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader. The show also stars Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, Rupert Friend, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie. Deborah Chow directs.
