RUMOR: Leaked Switch Online NES app shows unreleased games (Mega Man, Contra, Tetris, etc.)

Following the leak of a Switch Online GBA/GBC/GB emulator, we have even more information about the old content offered through Switch Online. Today we are going to take a look at the games that are not yet included in the Switch Online NES collection.

It looks like the same leak that provided a preview of the GBA emulator for Switch also included a different version of the Switch Online NES collection. In a video, the apps are compared side by side, and they start with a range that is exactly the same. You see a number of NES titles as they’ve been released by Nintendo so far, and then the app showcases a bunch of titles that haven’t made their way to the platform yet.

As you can see in the image above, many of the titles included in this version of the Switch Online NES collection have yet to be released. From multiple Mega Man titles to Castlevania games, Contra, and more, it seems like plenty of heavy hitters were slated for the service.

Now here’s the thing about this leak. This version of the Switch Online NES collection has a build date of October 2019. What does this mean for the future of these games on Switch Online? This could have been a list of titles that Nintendo hoped to include, but they failed to strike any deals. It could also be an actual list of what to expect in the future. Nintendo obviously isn’t going to talk about this leak, so all we can do is sit back and cross our fingers for these games to show up.
