Most website builders talk about their customization options, but Webflow definitely delivers. It’s known to be extremely customizable, making it an amazing option for creatives, perfectionists, or those who are really detailed or design-oriented. Webflow gives anyone the power to create a stunning website, with parallax scrolling and animations, without touching a single line of code.

Similar to most web builders, Webflow supports eCommerce brands in addition to freelancers, creatives, and other small business owners. Webflow offers small and medium e-commerce businesses the same level of design capabilities along with other competitive advantages including no transaction fees.


Webflow offers three different types of plans: site plans, e-commerce plans, and workspace plans.

To publish and design a non-e-commerce site, you will need a sitemap. A free plan will let you test out Webflow’s design features, but you won’t be able to get a custom domain unless you pay $12 per month (if billed annually) for the basic plan.

If you plan to use Webflow for a blog or content site (i.e. not just a portfolio site), you’ll need the CMS plan, which costs $16 per month (if billed annually) and supports 2,000 content management items as well as three content editors. Larger content sites can upgrade to the Business plan, which costs $36 per month (if billed annually) and supports 10,000 content management items and ten content editors.

Custom business sitemaps are available upon request.

For e-commerce plans, there is no free option. The cheapest plan is $29 per month and comes with a 2% transaction fee. The other plans, however, have 0% transaction fees, which is more competitive than what similar companies offer.

The mid-tier eCommerce plan, Plus, costs $74 per month and supports up to 1,000 items. If you have more than 1,000 items, you’ll need the Advanced plan, which supports 3,000 items and unlimited sales volume, and costs $212 per month (if billed annually).

Webflow’s workspace plans are designed to work with sitemaps, but instead of design, they focus on site permissions and collaboration features. They start at $0 for a designer.

Paid workspace plans give you the power to add more collaborators and grant certain permissions to different team members, which can be especially useful for a larger content site, design agency web or e-commerce brand.

Advanced design

Webflow is known for its advanced design features: parallax scrolling, animations, and micro-interactions. With Webflow’s Design Creator, you can create more dynamic web browsing experiences with interactive elements, such as text or images that slide across the page.


Webflow offers hundreds of templates if you don’t want to design completely from scratch. You can choose from e-commerce, personal, or business templates and customize them to your exact specifications. Each template is mobile-friendly, and Webflow’s editor lets you change the mobile look of your site as well as its desktop look.

Paid models range from $19 to $149. Paying for a web template can help you get the look you want for your site faster and more accurately.


Webflow comes with robust built-in SEO tools. Not only does it give you the ability to edit titles, URLs, and meta descriptions, but you can also create 301 redirects, edit your robots.txt file, and automatically generate a sitemap.


Webflow integrates with dozens of major services, including but not limited to Gmail, HubSpot, Mailchimp, SoundCloud, and Zapier. The downside here is that most of these integrations aren’t one-click, so they take time and effort to set up and configure.

All Webflow sites come with a free SSL certificate and DDoS protection. You’ll also get unlimited site backups, which means your work will be backed up in case something goes wrong.


For eCommerce businesses, Webflow offers a number of great features. When it comes to payments, Webflow lets you accept e-commerce payments from all major credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay, and PayPal. Sales taxes are calculated automatically with TaxJar’s API, so you don’t need to do any calculations yourself.

For marketing, Webflow lets you have full control over designing your order receipt and notification emails so they match the look and feel of your brand exactly. You can also connect your site to Facebook, Instagram, and Google to run ad campaigns and create shoppable posts more easily.
