Devastation, perhaps the coolest robot game of all time

Yes Transformers: devastation wasn’t on your radar before, it will be soon.

Released on October 6e for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4, and PC, that’s one hell of a hack-and-slash – that’s what happens when a transforming dinosaur robot (Grimlock) throws alongside Optimus Prime.

It’s not much of a surprise that Platinum Games is developing, perhaps, the coolest robot game of all time, and it’s only fitting that it’s based on Transformers.

In fact, our enthusiasm for the game would likely be reduced if it had been otherwise.

Designed to look like Transformers television series, and it really is, Transformers: devastation pays a lot of homage to every character in the franchise.

Platinum Games has taken the time to polish each character until it best matches their personality from the franchise we love.

In fact, during game development, they “spent a lot of time trying to match each character’s personality with a complementary fighting style. Bumblebee, for example, attacks faster than any other Autobot, but it sacrifices a fair amount of power. And Wheeljack’s mechanical ingenuity translates into a ranged weapon-centric attack scheme.

Each character also sports their own personalized style, unique abilities and mechanics, which means varied play styles and approaches for the opponents encountered.

Check it out for yourself. It’s nice.

What did you think about Transformers: devastation? I thought so.

For those of you who adore Transformers, you may consider pre-ordering the hack-and-slash.

Transformers: Devastation - Pre-Order DLC Pack

Along with the three bonus skins you’ll earn, adding a bit of color to the five Autobots available in the game, the DLC pack includes three unique weapons.

Each weapon has received as much affection as any other item or character in the game, which is definitely something. Well done Platinum Games.
