Collision repair industry leader Frank Terlep’s Test Drive CoPilot received the award for Best Collision Repair and Refinishing Products at the annual SEMA Show New Product Showcase.

Terlep previously told Repairer Driven News that CoPilot is designed to validate that the vehicle’s Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) are working and are properly calibrated using OEM repair procedure verification procedures found in owner’s manuals to guide users through documenting each road test after calibration.

After receiving the Collision Repair and Refinish Best Product Award Tuesday on Kickoff Breakfast, Terlep said, “Our goal is to make sure that when a car is brought back to the consumer, all of those ADAS systems work the way they’re supposed to. do it.

Terlep’s company, Auto Techcelerators, was acquired last week by OPUS IVS. “The trio of CoPilot offerings are growing rapidly, and the combination with Opus IVS gives us the scale to better serve our customers. We couldn’t have asked for a better partnership to realize our vision,” Terlep said in a press release announcing the acquisition.

Opus said it will continue to bring Auto Techcelerator’s products to market and plans to merge several of its products with the CoPilot suite “to provide the most comprehensive end-to-end ADAS, calibration and validation solution comprehensive and most integrated in the industry”.

CoPilot was also one of two finalists in the new ADAS product category and is one of 15 semi-finalists chosen from 100 competitors to compete today at the SEMA Show on national television for a grand prize worth of $92,000. SEMA Show attendees can meet Terlep and the Auto Techcelerators team at booth #22970 in the SEMA Launchpad Corral in the Central Concourse and Opus at booth #31095 in the Upper South Concourse.

The ADAS category and new electric vehicle product category brought the total number of new product awards this year to 18, including exterior accessories, interior accessories, new engineering products, street performance, racing performance, offroad/4WD, street rod/custom car, tools & equipment, van/pickup/sport utility, packaging design, merchandising display, mobile electronics, motorsports, tires and related.

ALLDATA won the ADAS award for its ADAS Quick Reference product, which, according to a description provided in the SEMA Show app, can be used to “quickly identify ADAS removal/replacement requirements that could result in additional labor for calibration or sublease costs, and displays basic information about calibration, tools required, and ADAS component maintenance prerequisites.”

Details of all showcase products are included in the SEMA Show mobile app that attendees can use as “a year-round resource to help them after the show,” according to SEMA. The app includes functionality that allows users to scan products of interest and create custom listings.
